A Legacy of Service and Style Since 1979

Wade's Interiors has been part of the Bradenton, FL community for over four decades, proudly helping homeowners create beautiful, functional spaces they love to live in. What began in 1979 as a small carpet store founded by Larry Wade has grown into a trusted resource for complete interior solutions. As the business evolved, so did its offerings, thanks in part to Lynn Wade, who expanded the showroom’s focus to include everything from window treatments and drapery to wallpaper, upholstery, and bedding. Today, Wade's Interiors is known for quality products, expert guidance, and a commitment to helping customers bring their unique vision to life.

In 2017, longtime General Manager Derick Johnson became the new owner, carrying forward the same values that shaped the business from the beginning. With over five years of leadership already under his belt, Derick brought deep experience and a sincere passion for customer care. His team shares that dedication to excellence and community, striving every day to make the experience of updating your home as seamless and rewarding as possible.

Our Team

Derick Johnson
Derick became owner of Wade’s Carpet & Interiors in 2017 after six years as General Manager. With over 20 years in flooring, he’s known for his leadership, focus on service, and commitment to excellence. He rebranded the company, built a new team, and often says, “I have the best team in the industry.”Outside of work, Derick values faith, family—his wife Whitney and their four kids—and the outdoors. He’s an avid sportsman and completed Ironman Florida three years in a row (2020–2022).
Tim Johnson

Tim has been with Wade’s for 3 years, leading the Commercial Division and now serving as Office Operations Manager. A former acrobat in Le Rêve at Wynn Las Vegas, he spent 11 years performing before returning home.

Tim enjoys fishing, boating, and staying active. He was inducted into the UCF Athletics Hall of Fame in 2023 with his 2003 National Championship team.

Jennifer Buckner

Jennifer is a residential interior design expert with 30+ years of experience. She specializes in Hunter Douglas products and various flooring options, known for solving design, budget, and functionality challenges.

Originally from Springfield, Ohio, she holds degrees in business and interior design, and is a Shaw Flooring Institute graduate. Jennifer and her husband James live in Bradenton, love RV travel, and enjoy time with their six kids, six grandkids, and dogs, Gracie and Petra.

Don Spencer

Don joined Wade’s in 2016 and brings a strong background in retail and customer service. He’s passionate about helping customers find the perfect tile, carpet, or wood flooring for their space.

Outside of work, Don enjoys time with his wife, three kids, and grandson, teaching at his church, and cheering on the Florida Gators—when he’s not battling his golf slice. He holds an A.A. in literature from MCC.

Karen Romine

Karen has been with Wade’s since 2011, guiding clients through personalized product selections and staying hands-on from start to finish. With 30+ years in the building industry, she keeps the tile and stone showroom fresh and inspiring.

Though she holds a degree in early childhood education, design is her true passion. Karen and her husband of 34 years have three grown children and recently became grandparents, enjoying family time and weekend getaways.

Whitney Johnson

Whitney, a 7th-generation Florida native, values community, family, and supporting the Wade’s team. She and her husband Derick have four children who often help in the family business. With a background in admin and customer service, she’s dedicated to creating a great customer experience and enjoys learning something new every day.

Cali Rhein

Cali Rhein lives in Cincinnati with her husband, Kirk, and their two sons, Kane and Cruz. A longtime media professional, she specializes in marketing, social media, and content creation. Her love of travel and design led her to Wade’s, where she’s excited to help grow the brand’s online presence.

Sarah Grace Johnson

Sarah Grace is Derick’s youngest daughter. While not in school, cheering, or playing volleyball, you can find her at the office helping in every department. She brings a great energy to the office and she has a keen eye for design.

Joelle Coulter

Joelle Coulter, a Bradenton native, earned her psychology degree from Eckerd College while playing collegiate indoor and beach volleyball. Now part of the Wade’s team as an administrative assistant, she brings strong work ethic and a drive to support both customers and coworkers.

In her free time, she enjoys the beach, boating, travel, and time with friends and family.
